September LGBT Caucus Meeting

Join us Saturday, Sept 21 at 10:00 am at DPH HQ for our monthly meeting. After the meeting we will be cleaning the DPH HQ as a fundraiser for the Caucus.

We have to move the voting for name change of the Caucus until our November meeting. Here is what we will be covering at the meeting:

  • Setting the LGBT Caucus 2020 Legislative Priorities
  • Implementation of legislation we helped pass – banning conversion therapy & expanding gender markers on State ID cards & Driver’s Licenses
  • Hate Crimes law revisited
  • Participation in the Honolulu Pride Parade & Festival

Maui Pride – October 6 – 13
Honolulu Pride – October 19 (LGBT Caucus are having a unit in the parade and a booth at the Festival)

Soul Dancer has agreed to lead the planning efforts for the LGBT Caucus’ participation in Honolulu Pride so please email him to volunteer with planning.DPH Booth at the Young at Heart Expo

The Democratic Party of Hawai‘i (DPH) is having a booth at Young at Heart (formerly known as The Senior Fair). Young at Heart is September 20, 21 & 22, 2019 and will be held at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm each day. There will be 300 Exhibit booths covering Travel, Health, Finances, Mortgages & Real Estate, Beauty, Nutrition, Flu Shots, Games, Contests, Prizes, Giveaways, Politics and MUCH, MUCH more!

They are looking for volunteers to come help staff the booth! They will be looking to sign-up new members, talk about the upcoming 2020 Party-run Presidential Primary and let the general public know everything else we do as a party.

If you are available on any of the days, September 20, 21 & 22 (Friday – Sunday), please fill out this Google form and let them know which shift(s) you can cover and someone from the DPH Membership Committee will contact you to confirm your schedule.

Young at Heart Volunteer Form:
2020 PPP ReminderPresidential Preference Poll (PPP: where members of the Democratic Party of Hawaii get to vote on who they support for the Democratic Nominee for President) has made some major changes for the 2020 election and here they are: 

  • District & Precinct Meetings to be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 pm (day after Super Tuesday)
  • 2020 PPP to be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Around 20 voting locations across the state for the PPP
  • Absentee voting for those that are an active member of the DPH by Monday, Feb 18, 2020
  • Rank choice voting (you can vote for up to 3 candidates)
  • Cost is @ $250,000

We will still have same day party & voter registration on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the voting locations across the state.
