June 26 – Equality Day Hawaii expands its protection for our community (& first night of 2020 debates)

June 26 – Equality Day Tomorrow, June 26, at 1:30 pm Governor David Ige will sign House Bill 711 – Relating to Criminal Defense and House Bill 1165 – relating to Gender Identification into law at a public signing ceremony in the Governor’s Ceremonial Room at the Hawai‘i State Capitol.  With the signing of HB 711 Hawai‘i will become the 6th state to ban Gay and Transgender Panic as an affirmative defense for murder charges, joining California, Connecticut, Illinois, Nevada, and Rhode Island.
