2018 Lt. Governor’s Candidate Forum

To help prepare for the 2018 Primary Election the LGBT Caucus and Labor Caucus of the Democratic Party of Hawai’i are hosting a candidate’s forum for the Democratic candidates for the Lt. Governor’s race.

Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm with the doors open @ 8:15 am

Talk-story: After the forum we will have a gathering to provide all the candidates, that can stay, time to talk story with the audience and the LGBT & Labor Caucus will provide light refreshments.

Audience: This forum is open to all members of the Democratic Party of Hawai’i as well as the general public.

PARKING ALERT: DPH Members are no longer allowed to use the parking spaces at 627 South Street so we are we requesting attendees park on the street or use the corner lot at South & Queen.

Order of participation: By random drawing

Time allotment: Each candidate will be given 35 minutes

Forum Format: Each candidate will be given 2 minutes for opening and a closing statements with the remaining 31 minutes to be used to answer a set of questions asked by the emcee from the LGBT Caucus as well as the Labor Caucus. If we exhaust all the prepared questions we will go to questions submitted by the audience either on index cards or email chair@glbtcaucushawaii.org for those audience members participating via the video-conference system.

Broadcasting: We will be using the DPH’s in-house video conference system and as well as Facebook Live. The Facebook Live will be shared on both the LGBT & Labor Caucus Facebook pages. Via the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/161969877863458/

Video/Audio Recording: Both feeds will be recorded to share with our respective members and the general public via our respective Facebook pages and/or websites. Each campaign is granted authorization to use these recordings but only for their respective candidate’s portion. Each campaign may also record the forum but only during their candidate’s portion. No video or audio recording by any campaign is allowed during the talk-story portion.
